Using Ovulation Kits

Many women rely on sophisticated devices called ovulation kits to predict their ovulation. These ovulation tests monitor the amount of luteinizing hormone (LH) in the urine. If LH rises that is a sign that ovulation will happen soon. Using ovulation predictor kits is more accurate and safer way of predicting ovulation than just relying on cervical mucus. They can predict ovulation up to 36 hours before, however we should say that they are still not 100% accurate. In fact, they can announce the false separation of oocytes, because they give only a positive or negative result, and not a value – and it is possible that LH rises without ovulation.
Therefore if you want to maximize your prediction rate it is advisable to combine several methods.
If you plan to use ovulation kit, you shouldn’t use it every day in the cycle, but a few days before mid-cycle (with a 28-day cycle that would be 11th day).
